4.7.7 Compatibility with cockpit lighting. Tests to determine the compatibility of the chosen light
color with cockpit lighting systems shall be determined by the supplier based on the cockpit
lighting systems specified by the procuring activity and these tests shall be identified (see 6.2).
4.7.8 Durability. The flight check list holder shall undergo 2,000 scrolling cycles with a minimum
eight-foot scroll check list mounted in the flight check list holder. No parts of the flight check list
holder or the scroll checklist shall work loose during the cycle test. After this test, the movement
of the scroll check list shall be tested (see 4.6.2)."
5 PACKAGING
5.1 Packaging. For acquisition purposes, the packaging requirements shall be as specified in the
contract or order (see 6.2). When actual packaging of materiel is to be performed by DoD
personnel, these personnel need to contact the responsible packaging activity to ascertain requisite
packaging requirements. Packaging requirements are maintained by the Inventory Control Point
packaging activity within the Military Department or Defense Agency, or within the Military
Department's System Command. Packaging data retrieval is available from the managing Military
Department or Defense Agency automated packaging files, CD-ROM products, or by contacting
the responsible packaging activity.
6 NOTES
6.1 Intended use. The flight check list holder covered by this document is to be used for holding
a scroll check list on transport- and helicopter-type aircraft.
6.2 Acquisition requirements. Acquisition documents must specify the following:
a. Title, number, and date of this specification.
b. Issue of the DoDISS to be cited in the solicitation, and if required, the specific issue
of individual documents referenced (see 2.2).
c. If first article test is required (see 3.1).
d. Cockpit lighting system compatibility requirements (see 3.4.3).
e. If the sampling inspection level for conformance testing is to be other than normal (i.e.,
tightened, or reduced) (see 4.3).
f. If test conditions are to be different than specified (see 4.4).
g. The requirement for the supplier to identify the test(s) to demonstrate lighting
compatibility (see 4.7.9).
h. Packaging requirements (see 5.1).
