3. REQUIREMENTS

3.1 First article. When specified (see 6.2), the contractor shall furnish a

sample for first article inspection and approval (see 4.2 and 6.4).

3.2 Materials, hardware and contents. Kit components and items comprising the

kit contents shall conform to the specification and drawings referenced in table

I. Components shall be free of any damage or deterioration resulting from shipment

or storage (see 6.5).

3.2.1 Age limitation. Unless otherwise specified by the procuring activity (see

6.2), the items shall have been manufactured within one year prior to date of

delivery of the kits.

3.3 Assembly. Except for items 6, 9 and 15, which shall be packed separately

(see footnote 1, table I), each kit shall include the items listed in table I. The

items shall be stowed in the cases as shown on Drawing 11-1-170.

3.4 Workmanship. The workmanship shall conform to the quality established by

this specification.
